These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all enquiries, quotes and services provided by Local Plumbers and Drainage Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or using our services, you agree to these Terms. For queries, contact info@localplumbersanddrainage.co.uk.

1) Scope of services

We provide drainage and related services, including but not limited to: unblocking, cleaning, high-pressure water jetting, CCTV drain surveys, fault diagnosis, drain and pipe repairs, patching and relining, soakaways and drainage installations, and emergency call-outs.

Any advice, estimates or recommendations are given in good faith based on information available at the time of inspection.

2) Bookings & attendance

  • We aim to attend within agreed time windows. Arrival times are estimates and may vary due to traffic, emergencies or unforeseen events.
  • An adult (18+) must be present to grant access and approve works.
  • Emergency call-outs are prioritised. Out-of-hours rates may apply.

3) Quotes, pricing & VAT

  • Quotes/estimates: Valid for the period stated on the quote; if not stated, 30 days.
  • Scope discovery: Prices assume reasonable access. Hidden defects (e.g., collapsed lines, severe root ingress, concrete/foreign objects) may require revised pricing after investigation.
  • Variations: Any change to scope requested by you will be priced and agreed before proceeding.
  • VAT: All prices are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate unless stated otherwise.

4) Cancellations & Rescheduling Policy

At Local Plumbers and Drainage Limited, we understand that circumstances can change. To keep our service reliable and responsive for all customers, the following policy applies.

Rescheduling Your Appointment

  • More than 24 hours’ notice: No charge. Call 07464 288103 to rebook.
  • Within 1 hour of the appointment: Treated as a cancellation and fees apply (see below).
  • Exception: If rescheduled within 1 hour and rebooked for the next day, no cancellation fee will be charged.

Cancellation Policy

  • More than 48 hours’ notice: No cancellation fee.
  • Within 48 hours but more than 24 hours: Cancellation fee: Call-out fee + VAT.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: Cancellation fee: Full 1 hour labour charge + call-out fee + VAT.

Deposit Policy

If a deposit has been paid, it is non-refundable if the job is cancelled or rescheduled, regardless of notice period. Deposits reserve your time slot and commit our engineer to your job.

We will confirm any applicable fees. Payment of cancellation fees is required before future bookings can be accepted.

Why We Have This Policy

As a family-run business serving London, Greater London and surrounding counties, our engineers dedicate time specifically to your booking. Late cancellations cause:

  • Loss of valuable engineer working time
  • Inability to allocate the slot to another customer
  • Impact on our ability to maintain fast, reliable service

5) Access & customer responsibilities

  • Provide safe, unobstructed access to the work area, including parking for vehicles and jetting equipment.
  • Ensure services (water, power) are available where required, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Secure pets and protect valuables. We will take care but are not liable for pre-existing defects or wear.
  • Where permissions/permits are required (e.g., highways, shared drains), you are responsible unless otherwise agreed.

6) CCTV surveys & reports

  • Survey findings are based on visibility and access at the time. Deposits, silt or blockages may limit visibility.
  • Reports and footage are provided for your information and to guide remedial works; they are not a guarantee of future performance.
  • Third-party acceptance (insurers, local authorities) of survey conclusions is outside our control.

7) Repairs, relining & materials

  • Materials remain our property until paid in full.
  • Where relining/patching is specified, suitability depends on onsite conditions and may require alterations to method or scope.
  • Excavations will be reinstated to a safe and functional standard; decorative finishes (e.g., premium paving patterns) are not guaranteed unless specified.
  • Waste removal/disposal is included only where stated on the quote.

8) Payment terms

  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on completion of works or upon delivery of the survey/report.
  • We accept major cards and bank transfer. Receipts are provided electronically.
  • Invoices not paid when due may accrue interest and admin charges as permitted by law.
  • Where insurance reimbursement is sought, you remain responsible for payment to us.

9) Liability & limitations

  • We will perform services with reasonable care and skill. Our liability is limited to the value of the service provided, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
  • We are not liable for consequential loss (e.g., loss of business, profit, or time), nor for issues arising from pre-existing defects, misuse or lack of maintenance.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10) Warranties

  • Where stated on the quote, workmanship warranties apply to the specific works completed and for the period stated.
  • Warranties exclude blockages or failures caused by misuse, foreign objects, fats/oils/grease, structural movement, subsidence, or tree root regrowth.
  • Consumables and jetting/clearing services are not warrantied against future blockages.

11) Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control (including but not limited to severe weather, utility failures, third-party actions, pandemics, or supplier issues).

12) Complaints

If you have a concern, please contact us promptly with your job reference and details. We aim to acknowledge within 2 working days and resolve as quickly as possible.

13) Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your booking applies to your order.

14) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
